Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship

The University of Colorado/Denver Health Fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine and Public Health is organized and supported by the University of Colorado/Denver Health Department of Emergency Medicine, in collaboration with the Colorado School of Public Health.

The purpose of the fellowship is to train emergency medicine physicians in global emergency medicine concepts, provide field experience in application of these concepts, and to provide research skills necessary to become an academic clinician with a specialty in global emergency medicine.

Our fellowship and department is committed to promotion and development of the specialty of emergency medicine in the global community. As such, fellows will receive comprehensive didactic training in core global emergency medicine topics, participate in bedside and non-clinical teaching opportunities both domestically and abroad, collaborate with fellows and faculty from our highly regarded toxicology, wilderness, EMS, ultrasound, and research fellowships, and participate in a variety of global EM projects, both domestically and internationally.

The University of Colorado/Denver Health Fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine and Public Health is a two-year program that includes completion of a Masters in Public Health (MPH). Consideration will be given to applicants seeking a one-year position if said applicant already holds a relevant advanced degree or has significant field experience within global emergency medicine. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Emergency Medicine. Preference is given to graduates of four-year residency programs and graduates of three-year programs who have had some clinical experience after residency.

The application deadline is September 30th, and on a rolling basis thereafter until the position is filled.

Please submit a copy of your curriculum vitae, a letter of intent (1-2 pages in length), and three (3) reference letters. Please submit your application through the International Emergency Medicine website (click link).

Thank you for your commitment to global emergency medicine!
